Captain Black @ Kilburn Luminaire

Not for them, the brave leap forward – Captain Black are happy, perhaps, to feed of north west London's Irish heritage and turn in a friendly, engaging and raucously enjoyable hourish of just-the-right-side-of fiddle-de-dee skiffle-folk. There's a lot to be said for engaging, caustic troubadourism – hey, The Wonderstuff made a decent enough career out of it – and no doubt CB's relentless gigging will grant them the requisite grass-roots fanbase. Pleasant, and that's grand.
